Generac Power Systems Regional Development Manager II in Dallas, Texas

The Regional Development Manager II is responsible for sales growth, market expansion, and go to market strategies for assigned regional distribution partners. This role will develop sales and regional distribution strategies along with distributor trainings and marketing communication tactics to ensure execution of programs and market share growth. This position will act as a liaison between assigned regional distribution partners and key customers while working closely with distributor channel leadership, Director of Sales, and internal departments to create business plans for greater market penetration. The Business Manager coordinates all marketing activities with distribution partners; building, designing, and executing the plans needed to grow share within the markets of responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, designs, and executes short term and long-term business plans related to all aspects/divisions of regional distribution partners

  • Develops and implements strategic relationships with key decision makers

  • Conducts sales presentations and provides training on new programs and products

  • Works with distributors to increase parts and service sales, leveraging Generac products and services

  • Supports all promotional programs

  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities.

  • Supports new product launches

  • Analyzes territory opportunities and discovers customer needs.

  • Creates KPI’s to align with overall channel goals

  • Tracks and reports on territory metrics regularly coordinates all marketing activities with distribution partners

  • Provides reconnaissance of competitors’ influence within territory and develops a plan to counter their influence within assigned territory. Creates solution-based sales strategies.

Minimal Q ualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • 5 years field sales experience in 2 step distribution

  • Ability to travel 50% or more

Preferred Q ualifications:

  • Experience with electrical and HVAC wholesale partners, electrical contractors, HVAC contractors, from a partnership and business development standpoint.

  • Previous trade experience, experience in the power generation, or installed equipment industries.

  • Territory marketing campaign development, conduct, present and provide training on products & programs

  • Proficiency with business analysis to understand key business metrics.

  • Ability to travel overnight at least 50%

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective negotiation skills with the ability to understand the complex sales process.

  • The analytical ability to understand key business metrics.

  • Effective presentation skills.

  • Self- motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based role.

  • Ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Visit multiple locations daily.

Level of Independence: Acts independently under the direction of the Director of Regional Sales.

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
