Job Summary: The Strategy and Business Development Intern is responsible for supporting the identification, development, and implementation of strategies for new revenue generation in the solar + storage industry. This involves having an understanding of the current market landscape, prevailing business models, energy market, and energy economics. Including developing proposals (including customized and complex technical bids), providing technical support post sale and over the long term developing and managing a set of strategic customer and enabling partner accounts with an associated pipeline of projects to grow Generac’s presence in the assigned industry.
Essential Duties:
Develop business cases for expanding addressable market
Develop proposals (including customized and complex technical bids)
Manage strategic partnerships
Engage with 3rd party financial institutions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program (Bachelors or Masters)
Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuing MBA, masters degree in environmental economics or similar
Significant established relationships in the solar + storage industry
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Understanding of the energy needs and challenges faced by customers in the solar+storage industry and the business models around procuring energy solutions
Demonstrated caliber to take on open ended challenges, innovate around business models, create partner ecosystems, and develop new business
Demonstrated skills around being a energy solutions architect
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage key accounts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Organizational skills
Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial culture
Ability to analyze financials
Knowledge of the internal processes and systems that support sales accounts
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 50% travel and valid Driver’s License required.
